Impact of export activities on financial situation of companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to investigate the impact of export activities on profi¬tability and activity ratios of 366 companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in the years 2000-2009. In order to measure an impact of export activities on profitability and activity of companies, the author applied a t-test to compare above mentioned ratios for exporters and non-exporters. To confirm the t-test findings, panel data models were estimated between fi¬nancial ratios and export share in sales and industry type. Data used in the research came from the Notoria Service database and annual Warsaw Stock Exchange reports SA-R and SA-RS (annual financial report of a publicly traded company and consolidated annual financial report of a publicly traded company).
