Honour as a subject of legal protection

Summary/Abstract: The author of the article presents his reflections on the term „honour“, as well as its legal protection. Law of the First Czechoslovak Republic is used as a background, anyway, the author tries to point out its general characteristics. Attention is paid to the definition of „honour“, the situations in which law provided protection of honour and the ways in which this protection was provided, different forms of defamation and the scope of protection of honour. The end of the article deals with the fundamental problem – relation between protection of honour and human rights (right to human dignity, freedom of speach, right to information).
