Summary/Abstract: Parliamentary elections in the countries of the Visegrad group (2001 - 2002) demonstrated that individual states differ in the development of their party systems. At least two systems - Polanfd and Slovakia - have not yet stabilized, while the party system in the Czech Republic could be regarded as stabilized with certain reservations , and the Hungarian party system appears the most stabiilized. Most support in parliamentary elections was directed to those groups who are markedly pro-European, pro-EU inegration in character, and consider co-operation with other Visegrad states important. These various forms of co-operation are expected to intensify at both bilateral and multilateral levels, not only before EU entry but also after. This also applies to mutual support within NATO.
