Summary/Abstract: Multiple losses represent a challenging phenomenon for specialists, but at the same time are difficult to manage, because of the strong resonance they have on both the individual and on the system that the individual is part of. The dramatic context and profound changes we face requires the activation of adaptive mechanisms, in order to mobilize resilience. The mind-body-spirit unity requires an intervention that takes into account the complexity of the individual and offers a holistic perspective on the person, which would also address the spiritual and religious dimension. Religion is a widely spread social phenomenon, which is part of the oldest “therapeutic methods” people turned to in solving their problems. Lately, the impact of religion starts to grow in recognition by the professional community, and the science and religion dissensions start to diminish in order to be able to gather empirical data concerning man’s relationship to belief. The scientific literature abounds regarding the mechanisms through which religion affects the individual on a cognitive, subjective, behavioral, social and biological level. We will further present the analysis of a demonstrative therapeutic interview with a person who suffered losses. The resources activated by the client in order to cope with those losses and the role of religion in resilience were explored.
