New trends in place marketing

Summary/Abstract: The objective of the hereby article is to indicate the selected trends referring to place marketing which seem significant from the perspective of promotion and social-economic development of territorial units. From this perspective place marketing can be perceived as the reaction to demand in the sphere of professional management applied in territorial units. The first part of the article presents theoretical aspects of place marketing, then particular trends are discussed, among which the following examples are included: tourism brand products, place promotion by means of sport, spa&wellness, conference oriented tourism, intensified economic promotion. The article is concluded by presenting selected advantages resulting form the application of solutions referring to place marketing.
