Summary/Abstract: The present study aims at revealing certain aspects concerning the ethnic and religious structure of the counties in Romania’s current western part, from south to north - Timis, Arad, Bihor and Satu Mare - as it was presented in the census of 1930. These counties have a common frontier with Hungary on certain distances. Arad and Bihor border with only Hungary, Satu Mare borders with Hungary and Ukraine, and Timis borders with Hungary and Serbia. In order to see what changes were registered after the Treaty of Trianon, we made comparisons with the census conducted in 1910.
