Summary/Abstract: Studying the question of the Greek ethnic presence in the Bul¬garian territories it should be pointed out that apart from the traditional areas of inhab-itance - the Southern and Eastern, during the Revival they could be found in other re¬gions of the country like that of Veliko Turnovo. Generalizing the sources of this region we can determine: 1. Through this period Greeks were living in two towns - Turnovo and Svishtov and in five villages - Arbanasi, Liaskovec, Gorna Oriahovica, Zlatarica and Alekovo and the number of settlements remains constant. 2. The total average number of the ethnic Greeks during the 19th century is around 2620 which is 1.2% of the total number of the population. For the first half of the cen¬tury the Greeks are about 2670-1.5% and through the period of 1856 to 1878-1520, 0.7%. For the period of the Earlier Revival there is concrete data only for the local settlements but they show values which are 35% higher then these in the next period. 3. The total number of the studied category of population starts to decrease after the 1830s.
