Summary/Abstract: It is an undisputable fact that the backbone of leading global economies are family businesses and that they pave the roads and pace of their development. For these reasons, the phenomenon of family businesses has become an interesting fact for research for the scientific and professional community, their advantages and disadvantages compared to alternative forms of ownership, the institutional model of their organization, the problems of their establishment and functioning of specific modalities and organizational structures, which these companies favour. All companies today face increasingly uncertain business conditions, regardless of their size, type of ownership, the level of their development, the nature of activities they are involved, their age etc., causing numerous problems. Although family businesses, which have a very long historical tradition, and which constitute the dominant form of ownership of organization and management companies not only in transition economies, but also in highly developed countries, there is a rich economic literature treating the problem of family businesses. The aim of this paper is by analysing the problem of specific approach in organizational design of family businesses to encourage some research in this direction.
