The Significance of the Stylization in the Column Poetics

Summary/Abstract: In the column poetics there are both stylization (understood as giving the statement, that is representing genre X, some features of the other genre) and some stylistic changes, which realize the rule of the column concept. Different kinds of stylizations (especially the structural ones) are adaptation processes typical for the column. Independence of the columnists causes that the collection of this adaptations is practically unlimited. Currently new communication styles connected with Internet functioning are imitated or processed. The authors of the columns often use some tricks that make their texts surprising and attracting the readers attention. The shape of the column is determined by the stylization and the other changes. Stylistic operations are not only art for art’s sake, they emphasize the most important message of the statement.
