Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the most popular female names given in Cracow from 16th to 18th century. The paper is a study of the canon of the most common female names. It is based on rich anthroponomastic material gathered from manuscripts. These names despite different fashions in naming stayed unchanged during the ages and can be regarded as a sign of Christian tradition and culture constancy.
