Summary/Abstract: The paper is about direct sales conducted by Polish farmers. Investigations were made in 2009 and were based on desk and field research. This article shows relationship between direct sales and local development, actual legislation in the area of direct food sale in Poland and problems with law interpretation – in the aspects of theory of marketing and in real business as well. The authors also showed the results of investigations based on interviews with experts – employees working in marketing departments in ODR (special Polish state service for agribusiness advising). These people were experts in problems connected with direct food sale and other agricultural products in Poland.
