Summary/Abstract: The special group of persons who are vulnerable to social exclusion are the parents of disabled children. After their child is born those parents concentrate on his or her treatment and rehabilitation. Mostly the mothers tend to give up their professional career and both parents abandon their cultural and social life. Thus after a few years their situation changes significantly. It is extremely difficult to bring them back to work and it also seems to be impossible to renew their social contacts. The academic social integration club, working alongside the university of Zielona Góra, is aimed to meet the needs of the parents who cope with their disabled children and it is the first to make an offer to those people who are in need of support.
