Summary/Abstract: Great demands of language should be made for TV journalists. Their public language, which has an influence on society, should be correct and prestigious. The research reveals that journalists do not pay attention to general norms of the language. Many accentuation mistakes are made. The main aim of this article is to analyse accentuation mistakes of three popular TV journalists. 45 TV telecasts were studied (15 of each journalist). The characteristic accentuation mistakes according to the parts of speech were discussed separately. The mistakes made are compared with the standard cases of accentuation. The accentuation regularities of common language are explained and the mistakes are urgent for many language users. They show some accentuation inclinations of society. This work could be very urgent for the students, who study the Lithuanian languag, science of accent, an who try to avoid accentuation mistakes. The research data ould be very useful for the Lithuanian language teachers and journalists
