WOKÓŁ ZWROTU INTERPRETATYWNEGO
AROUND THE INTERPRETATIVE ORIENTATION

Summary/Abstract: This article is devoted to a critical discussion of a project of the interpretative/hermeneutic anthropology (Geertzian project, in particular) and semiotic/linguistic turn in the reflection on culture. Actually, semiotic orientation, as concentrated on the category of text and meaning, seems to be given up and replaced by the pragmatic turn, as concentrated on the category of practice and performance. The main thesis of this article is the following: the interpretative orientation, as problematic as inspiring, should be rethought and identified again. After that, it can be still methodologically fruitful.
