Summary/Abstract: The article raises a problem of children’s grief in the threat-bearing situation which is their peers’ death suicide. A therapeutic exercise following the event has become a source of peculiar research materials (pupils’ drawings picturing their experience of two suicidal deaths, letters written on behalf of the dead friends, and questionnaires completed by teachers). The collected materials allowed for an analysis of the pupils’ psychological condition after some tragic events as well as it showed the way how death by suicide was perceived by both teachers and youngsters. High volume of emotions of the type: anxiety, sadness, a feeling of being lost and a similar frequency of particular categories of motives for suicide point to grief — the condition rarely recognized by majority of teachers. The obtained data are discussed in the context of behaviour in the situation of crisis.
