Summary/Abstract: Based on archival sources (accounts, plans) from the Kriegsarchiv in Vienna from the 18th and 19th centuries, the contribution presents the history of the castle of Kronstadt (Brasov, Brasso) beginning with the earliest informations from 1524 until the middle of the 19th century, when it was no longer of military importance. The detailed description of the fortification includes images and plans from the 18th and 19th centuries.
