Summary/Abstract: New editions of Old-Polish texts published in Library of Medieval Literature Monuments (Cracow 2006) and the latest edition of The Holy Cross Sermons (Warsaw 2009) show how many textual problems are in old texts and how may possibilities of interpretation they provide. Similarly, the oldest monument of Polish prose – trilingual Florian Psalter appears to be a composition that still hides a lot of unresolved riddles. Despite a perfect, as for its time, Ganszyniec – Taszycki – Kubica’s critical edition (Lvov 1939) the text of Psalter demands a renewed edition on the basis of new interpretation and taking modern sources into consideration. At the example of so-called prologues to the Psalter a deepened analysis of their origins was presented. Worth analysing is not only the mutual relation of Polish and German text to the Latin text but also Latin text itself. On its basis, according to the author, after having conducted the analysis and comparisons, one will be able to determine, with a certain probability, a domain from which the Latin original of Florian Psalter came from.
