Summary/Abstract: The thesis defines and clarifies the aspiration of Slovak Catholic clergy to establish autonomous Roman Catholic sacred province in the territory of Slovakia during the first Czechoslovak republic. The cast of the work is analysis of political aspects of the territorial, structural and personal reorganisation of the Catholic Church in the territory of Slovakia during aforesaid period. The work analyse development of bilateral relations between Czechoslovak republic and Apostolic See, it allocates on ideological attitudes of particular political subjects towards territorial reorganisation of the Roman Catholic Church in the territory of Slovakia. It also characterizes the notion of the public opinion towards mentioned questions.
