Summary/Abstract: Who would have thought that a girl born in Czechoslovakia before the Second World War would one day become the Secretary of State of the United States, being the first woman appointed to this post? A mother of three, who never held any post in the administration until the age of 39, would as a woman find herself on the most prominent shelf of the American history? These are the questions Madeleine Albright starts her book with, quite justifiably offering the answer which would make anyone proud: nobody. The first part of her book is about her childhood, the life of an ever- moving intellectual-diplomat family, the second part covers Madeleine Albright's political career.
