Summary/Abstract: Article is devoted to the memory of Professor Adam Karpiński, outstanding specialist of Old Polish literature and editorship of past ages. This eminent researcher was a modest and tolerant person, but when needed, he could be a demanding teacher. His many students appreciated it and were very grateful to him. For The Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, this loss is irremediable. Not to say of those whoever knew him.
