Summary/Abstract: The present article discusses problems referring to selected aspects of the marketing orientation of territorial units which constitutes one of the stages within which units orientation changes with reference to the market. The introduction presents a few key elements related to the concept of territorial units marketing. Next the author characterizes reasons for the growing interest in marketing orientation of territorial units. Community life quality issues are also covered as one of components included in marketing territorial composition. Finally, the elements which influence and stimulate marketing orientation development are presented based on the example of such determinants as creativity, leadership and the strategy of territorial development.
