Market determinants of territorial competition in the light of material investments

Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the market of material investments to assess its impact on territorial competition and its efficiency. The influence of investment decisions of firms on the branch and spatial structure of this market is also analysed. The analyses show that the investment market has various flaws; it fails to adjust the supply of investment to the demand for it. This failure creates investor’s market which distorts mechanism of territorial competition and generates excessive and expensive competition in the form of zero-sum game and negative-sum game. This market is not conducive to creative competition that is beneficial for the economy and society.
