Orange Art

Summary/Abstract: Orange revolution which changed Ukraine was not only a political event. It can be considered as a series of street performances, a series of artistic actions. Of course, it was organized and directed by Ukrainian people who demonstrated in the streets of many cities. In fact, Ukrainian artists documented the performances and interpreted the events in the streets. The Ukrainian Artists Association organized exhibitions which included materials collected during the events. Their work is often considered as ‘maydan art’ (the art of market squares).
