Summary/Abstract: In 2001 I made a presentation at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, at the meeting dedicated to the 80th birthday anniversary of the eminent Georgian verse researcher, Akaki Khintibidze. I have not published the report yet and my decision to offer it for publication in this jubilee volume of the journal “Sjani” was determined by the fact that Akaki Khintibidze was the member of the editorial board of the journal founded in 2000 and was one of its most active authors all his life – all the volumes of the journal “Sjani” contained his articles. Let the jubilee of “Sjani” serve in memory of this person who took great care of the journal. The review analyzes the letter “Ilia’s Wish and Hope” being published in Ak. Khintibidze’s book “Essays onVersification”.
