“Batignol” Affair in the Parliament of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia

Summary/Abstract: Jugoslavia tried to resolve encreased social problems by launching an ambitious programme of public works during the years of great economic crisis, suspended parliamentary regime and great rate of unemployment. One part of the programme was construction of the railroad network, and the majority of the construction work was entrusted to the French company “Batignol”.
