Summary/Abstract: The Premonstratensian monastery is in Jászó, Slovakia, formarly Upper Hungary. It has been a spiritual development center since 1170. Today it is the center of the Slovakian mens’ order of the Norbertines. This sacred complex was restored in the 18th century and continues to the 21st century. This thesis studies Hungarian sacred art from this viewpoint. How does the portrayal of sacred art affect the viewer? The hypothesis is that any sacred place reveals its spirit or charisma. Those who enter with openness are called by this spirit and affected by it. The appearance of the artwork in the building expresses its spirituality.
