Summary/Abstract: The author is striving for a non-conformist analysis of events of the Romanian December of 1989. He has drawn information from his multiple stays in Romania, among others in December 1989; from interviews with protagonists and their reactions; from relevant and sporadically published Securitate documents; contemporary newspaper articles and from natural intuition. He exposed the characters’ reactions and actions to his genuine curiosity, that of a stranger, who understands the Romanian mentality, knows the background of the political decisions and even the private lives of some politicians.
