Russian-Turkish Wars and Strandzha Rebellion. (Through the Genealogies of The Binbelovs and the Uzunnikolovs)

Summary/Abstract: On the background of the main moments of the Russian-Turkish wars from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century, as well as on the background of a review of the social and economic situation in Eastern Thrace, the author reveals the circumstances in which the Strandzha rebellion came into being. Two families: the Binbelovs and the Uzunnikolovs were directly connected with that rebellion and the article offers research on their genealogy and follows the lives of their most distinguished representatives.
