Summary/Abstract: The paper diagnoses the Europe Media Monitor platform as a powerful instrument for processing and rationalization of large information data. The text presents a case study on the applicability of the platform as an analytic tool for researching phenomena in the realm of media agenda and the public sphere in general. The scientific and technological premises as well as the institutional intentions motivating the development of this electronic media monitoring system are also discussed.
