Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the development of Czech post-industrial city. In the first part of the work, the most important facts about Ústí nad Labem and its region are introduced: its history, social and demographic situation as well as city’s importance for north-western part of the Czech Republic. The second part of the article depicts the results of spatial development research conducted by students from Spatial Development Student’s Scientific Club Aliquanta during their stay in Ústí nad Labem. The analysis includes: functional division, recreational infrastructure, waste disposal, traffic fluency, spatial order and city’s social problems. The last part presents students’ conclusions and examples for the better development of city’s potential.
