Summary/Abstract: The author presents the development of migrationin in the Czech Republic. The first part of the paper characterizes the changes after 1989 and the second part is about migration after 2003. The author presents the migration as a diversified and variable phenomenon. The paper deals with the issue of foreigners participation, the women participation in migration and the population age structure, education and the spatial section. The impact of the global economic crisis on the labor markets and the migration of population in the Czech Republic is also mentioned. This paper presents in detail the case of migration of population in the Ústí nad Labem region.
