Summary/Abstract: The exhibition "The Written Word in Croatia", Museum Space, Jezutski trg, Zagreb, from November1985 to February 1986 is a unique cultural undertaking. With some one hundred scholars and researchers as participants, a selection of three and a half thousand specimens from home and abroad found their place at the exhibtion with a purpose to illustrate the appearance of script on the territory that is today occupied by the Republic of Croatia, its expansion, changes and developmentsfrom the first Greek inscriptions in stone in the 4th century B. C., to the contemporary electrponically mediated words.
