Summary/Abstract: The main objective of the study is to look for the impact of size classes of the companies on the innovative activity of regional industrial system. The study was conducted in the years 2008-2010 on a group of 500 companies in Małopolskie Voivodeship. Calculations were made using the method of logit modeling (probability theory). This method turned out to be an effective research tool for larger but static tests in which the dependent variable is qualitative. The results of the study show that the size of enterprises determines their innovative activity in this particular region. This relationship is, however, diverse. According to the evolutionary school the situation seems to vary depending on the level of economic development of a studied region.
