Summary/Abstract: Trade unions in Poland are the basic form of representation of employee interests. Apart from the trade unions, there are many other forms of representation of employees in an enterprise. First of all, one can mention employees councils, representations in cases of work health and safety, employee representatives on supervisory boards or representatives appointed ad hoc to resolve specific issues together with employers. Furthermore, employees have the right to participate in representative forms of participation also in the Community-scale enterprises. The main objective of this paper is to present the non-trade union forms of employee representation found in the Polish industrial relation system and to determine relations between these forms and trade unions.
