Summary/Abstract: The object of the article is Tendžiogala’s countryside district. It was an administrative unit that existed in the periphery of the River Šušvė in the eastern part of Samogitia. The tasks of the article are to find out on the basis of written sources the geographical objects and residential places that used to belong to Tendžiogala’s countryside district since its first reference unit the end of the 18th century, i.e. the collapse of the state of Lithuania and Poland; to discuss the residential and geographical objects which once belonged to Tendžiogala’s countryside district; and to review the old maps with the aim to find information about the primary depiction of Tendžiogala’s residential and geographical objects in cartography. The ultimate task of the article is to depict the collected information of Tendžiogala’s countryside district in cartography. The study contains the map Tendžiogala’s countryside district in the 16th–18th centuries: residential places, physical geographical objects and approximate boundaries, based on the research. The purpose of the study is to perform a historical and cartographical reconstruction of Tendžiogala’s countryside district in the 14th–18th centuries. The research serves as a possibility to study a specific and often forgotten supplementary science of history, providing an opportunity to present one’s own interpretation based on the methodology of historical geography and historical cartography.
