Summary/Abstract: Like every value that one loses, the value of peace is realized in its absence. Admittedly, the societies that experience the horror of war are the ones that truthfully realize the importance of peace. The history of humanity is full of terrible examples of adventures of existence and tragic experiences of mankind. This tragedy is acted on people that slaughter each other, live in hunger and poverty in Bosnia, Iraq, Syria, and some African countries. All people in Balkan region have witnessed the horrible side of war. However, it cannot be denied that, the defenseless minorities living in these countries have been the easiest target of war. In every society, there have been pacifist people as well as the ones that support violence and war. The yearning for peace has a special place in arts and literature. Literature has always stood against this savageness with its magical power. There have been always powerful writers that emphasize peace in Greece. From Aristophanes to Ritsos this tradition has been maintained. Western Thrace Turks who live as minority in Greece have sung their peace songs with literature.
