Summary/Abstract: “Ben Okri’s Madame Koto as a Metaphor of Colonial Domination”. The focus of this paper is on Madame Koto, one of the main characters in Ben Okri’s trilogy, “The Famished Road” and is an attempt to outline the main traits of her personality. At the same time it concentrates on showing how the Nigerian writer uses this character as a metaphor for the British colonial domination in Nigeria thus revealing the negative aspects of this period that marked deeply the history of the African state.
