Energy Security Issue

Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the concept of energy security which depends on the type of energy carrier. Energy security may be considered in political, economic, ecological, institutional and technical aspects. The author presents the issue of energy self-suffi ciency of the state in terms of autonomy and integration, and the risk related to energy supplies. Moreover, the specifi city of energy security of great agglomerations is investigated and – on the example of Poland – energy security bodies.
