Summary/Abstract: On the basis of few remained opinions of emperor Nikolas I (including his notes), the published decrees and orders, documents of the Russian state historical archive Nikolay Pavlovich’s relation to the father, the active involvement of the emperor directed on perpetuating of a reputation of Paul I is analyzed: withdrawal from the circulation of memoirs about events on March 11, 1801, creation of a memorial complex in Gatchina.
