Summary/Abstract: Review: Kognitywizm w poetyce i stylistyce [‘Cognitivism in Poetics and Stylistics’], ed. by Grażyna Habrajska, Joanna Ślósarska, Cracow 2006. The collection of texts in the volume under review proves that the linguistic cognitive method is of use in literary theory that translates into literary-historical and literary-critical praxis. The book in question combines the most recent research achievements across several disciplines of the humanities – epistemology and philosophy of language; psycholinguistics; literary theory (incl. poetics and stylistics); the art of analysis and interpretation of literary works as inter-semiotic cultural signs emerging in a dynamic conceptualising process of reality as a ‘literary image of the world’.
