Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the relation between literary narrative, its poetics, and intersubjectivity. Intersubjectivity as a cognitive tool compensates for the singularity of our individual cognitive perspective. I offer an overview of narrative models of accessing the fictional character’s mind, and I point out their narrative markers. My focus is on those forms of narrative that are not usually associated with literary representation of consciousness (literary behaviourism). Using the concept of intersubjectivity, it is possible to analyse many more aspects of the working human mind than it was within traditional narratological studies.
