Summary/Abstract: The goal of this article is to show the results of measurement of the achievements’ tests obtained by secondary school students and measurement of level of trait and state anxiety and level of the hope. The study was conducted on a representative random sample of students in Poland (n = 3643, aged 16–20 years, M = 17.5, SD = 0.5). During the three waves of the study State and Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), The Hope Questionnaire (HQ) and PISA tools (Programme for International Student Assessment) were applied. The results indicated that both the level of anxiety as measured by the state and as a trait, and the level of hope moderately differentiate students into groups with higher and lower skills test results.
