Summary/Abstract: At the end of the Middle Ages, the House of Habsburg and Venice shared at least three spaces of conflict and compromise (the Italian Peninsula, East-Central Europe and the Ottoman space). All three spaces were closely interconnected by the wide networks of the two powers. Based on a selection of Italian and Austrian archival material, the study focuses on the contact area between the latter two spaces (late 1400s – early 1500s).
