Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the inter-war plans for the expansion of Zemun on the left bank of the river Sava, where New Belgrade was later built. It examines the origins of these plans, which date back to the AustroHungarian times, and the course of their development, until the liquidation of the independence of the Zemun municipality and its integration into the structure of Belgrade in 1934. The importance of this topic in particular indicates the fact that the administration of Zemun was created not only the oldest previously known concept of regulation left bank of the river Sava, but that the government in 1932 made only regulation plan that was an official proposal for the construction of the urban structure on this area in the inter-war period.
