Summary/Abstract: The article entitled Russian entrepreneurs and tradesmen and foreign Russian policy between 1906-1914 draws attention to the opinions and the influence of industrial and trade connected groups on the foreign policy of the country. One should add the fact that the groups were connected with most of the political parties existing at that time (beginning with cadets, the Octobrists, progressives, and ending with rightists’ groups). The activities taken up by Russian entrepreneurs and tradesmen were presented in the chosen examples concerning the Far East (Japan, China), the Balkans (as called the Russians of Near East) and Germany. The regions were not chosen coincidentally as the attention and the interests of Russian entrepreneurs and tradesmen focused exactly on those points. The Russian entrepreneurs tried to influence the foreign policy by the contacts with each of the following foreign policy ministers, the prime ministers or the minister of finance. They also endeavoured to achieve their goals by their representatives in the State Duma, by expressing their opinions in press or, in the so called, society. Numerously, their opinions were recognized and accepted by those who were responsible for the foreign policy which resulted in the stated arrangements or the steps undertaken by Russian diplomacy. It must be emphasized that the government (including the minister of foreign affairs) was aware that the activities had to be supported by industrial and trade groups. That is why the meetings with the representatives of the mentioned groups were organized and they were informed about the activities undertaken by the Russian diplomacy.
