INFORMATION CONTENT IN ENGLISH AND ROMANIAN ADVERTISEMENTS

Summary/Abstract: This article outlines the importance of the cross-cultural information content analysis of advertisements which reveals the cultural aspects that influence advertising strategies. The study offers insights into the cultural values and the information content present in the messages of the 25 English and 25 Romanian ads from the corpus (four of them analysed in detail in the present article). Finally, statistical results are presented and conclusions are drawn.
