Summary/Abstract: The main aim of this project was to stress the importance of regions development on the basis of respect for relations created by the generations of regions inhabitans. To make the project for territorial units development, established by goverment, we have to know not only the economical, geografical datas of these territorial units, but also historical, cultural values, which determinated the characteristic relationships between people. Territorial identity is one of the most important factor of region compactivity. According the territorial identity people identify with concrete territory. Indicators of succesfull regional policy except for statistics facts about increasing life level and demography are so-called latent factors as patriotism, links with habits and traditions. The most appropriate mean for achieving harmony relations inside or between the regions is consistently investigation of regions sociology, as its inseparable part. Project is intended to define relations between territorial identity and the way of creation the territorial units by administrative and geopolitical means.
