Summary/Abstract: The article examines the relations between Fyodor Dostoevsky and Nikolai Strahov, the strange circumstance about their controvercy concerning the question “how much is two multipled by two”. In fact, this controvercy is expressed in Dostoevsky’s Notes from the Underground.
