Considerations on the amendments and supplements regarding certain offences referred to in the Law on copyright and related rights

Summary/Abstract: This study examines the legislative amendments and supplements regarding the offences concerning pirated goods, as products that are subject to copyright or related rights or the packaging or cover thereof, as operated by Law no. 187/2012 on the application of the new Criminal Code. The author outlines certain opinions regarding the reasons that determined the legislator to modify the Law on copyright and related rights without analysing, with the use of the known template, the object, subject and contents of offences, since these elements have been examined in extenso in the literature. In parallel, the study also encourages legal theoreticians and practitioners to focus on the issue in question, in order to also identify other legal meanings likely to complete the landscape of criminal liability in the matter of copyright and related rights.
