Summary/Abstract: European integration is a process of political, legal, economic, social and cultural interaction of the countries in Europe. The governments come to joint decisions about many topics, approving policies in wide range of fields - from agriculture to culture, from consumers’ security to competition, from environment and power engineering to transport and commerce. The aim of the present article is to analyze the impact of the EU membership on the competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy and to review cordial policies. The Global Competitiveness Report and other strategic and program documents of the government are used as a basis for the analysis.
